Split is an amazing city, with many touristic attractions and an amazing atmosphere. The natural wonders, combined with an imposing architecture, are making from Split a true paradise. However, if you want to truly enjoy this city, there are some things that you need to know, before you even arrive here. Bellow, we will tell you more about this, and we will explain you all the things that need to be done, in order for you to have an extraordinary vacation in Split.

1) Arrival

As you might know already, Split is the second largest city in Croatia and it has an international airport. Many airlines are going on this route and you probably won’t have a problem with finding a direct flight. Just make sure that you book one earlier, especially during summer, because it can be pretty crowded in this season. The airport is located just 15-20 minutes of driving from the center of city Split, but you will always find a taxi, which will take you to your hotel/rented room.

2) Accommodation

This is another “sensitive” topic, because Split is a very touristic city. It might be pretty hard to find a convenient place to stay, if you didn’t book one before. That’s why, when you book your flight, you should also look for accommodation. There are lots of online platforms on which you can find different hotels or private rooms at convenient prices. Our recommendation would be to search for a private room, because they offer the same conditions as a hotel, for a more affordable price. Just make sure that you book one before you arrive in Split.

3) Where to eat?

Many hotels have their own restaurants, so if you decided to stay at a hotel, this facility will be included. However, if you want to treat yourself, you have to know that Split has plenty of luxury and traditional restaurants, in which you can enjoy some of the finest dishes. Tavern Matejuska, Villa Spiza or Restaurant Dvor, are just a few places in which you can enjoy a delicious meal, combined with impeccable service.

4) The main attractions

If you already decided to visit Split, you probably know what this city is about. However, we’ll give you a few tips. The main attraction and the very heart of the city, is represented by the Diocletian’s Palace. The vestige is a true symbol of opulence and greatness, and it will astonish you with its unique design. The Cathedral of St. Domnius┬áis another great attraction. Built by the Romans and restored by the Croats, the Cathedral borrows some motifs from the Roman and Croatian culture, resulting an impressive construction.
